Making entrails

This week has been spent making the organs for the back of the three faces, out of air drying modelling clay. I did have a got at making them with ready mixed polyfiller, as I thought it would have been interesting to see what finishing textures would have looked like, instead of the smoothness that the clay leaves.

I've made this work in a collage manner, in order to get all of the organs to fit, I've scaled a template of the surface where the organs will be placed and have modelled them around that particular area. I'm hoping they do stick out a little bit and aim to make them quite volumous as I don't want to have a flat set of organs.
Now it's just a matter of letting these dry and getting paint ready.
I've also been dabbling with a few plaster of paris moulds that I managed to get from the set of organs before I had to rid myself of the smell. Managed to get a gelflex cast of the whole set, latex moulds and a wax glass heart. Don't ask me what I'm doing with them yet, I'm not sure, kind of thinking about using one of these casts to incorporate into my body piece.
